Offered at the Twin Lakes Family YMCA
Archery has a rich history as the “sport of royals,” teaching irreplaceable skills from ultimate focus to relaxation and concentration while also building confidence and giving them a sense of accomplishment.
The first part of the course will be meeting once per week for 90 minutes for the first five weeks, teaching fundamental skills, and how to care for the equipment. Instilling a sense of responsibility and the importance of taking care of something. Then comes the competition for the last three weeks. This is where they can show the improvement of their skills and be involved in a healthy competition.

Practice & Competitions
Participants will meet once per week for 90 minutes. The first 5 weeks will be practice to learn the fundamental skills of archery as well as how to care for the equipment. The final 3 weeks will be archery competitions designed in a JOAD format.
Equipment & Uniforms
All equipment will be provided by the YMCA. Equipment will be available at your practice location. If you would like to bring your own equipment, it must meet NASPstandards.
Registration may end before September 22nd due to reaching capacity. In the new archery program, we are only able to accept the first 10 participants to register in the younger division and 15 in the older division. Register early to guarantee your spot!
Mark Martinez is a National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) certified archery instructor. He has been the archery instructor/range master at Camp Twin Lakes for 4 years and has participated in the sport of archery for over 30 years.
