At YMCA Camp Twin Lakes, we give campers the chance to reconnect with the simple joys of being a kid.

Explore, Discover & Build Confidence

Kids today need the camp experience more than ever. Every day brings something new, exciting and challenging; like the power of a positive mentor, the confidence that comes from trying … then succeeding, and the importance of healthy, long-lasting friendships.

Rising with the sun instead of sleeping until noon. Physical activity that encompasses the whole body — not just the thumbs. Stretching comfort zones and building confidence in ways a trip to the mall never could. The shared warmth of new friendships rather than the isolation of days spent online. At Camp Twin Lakes, we give campers the chance to reconnect with the simple joys of being a kid. Swimming, hiking, slip-and-sliding.

Team sports and lone accomplishments. Being silly and being brave. We provide a safe, supportive and fun environment filled with new activities every day. The counselors provide the spark. And while each camper’s overall stay will be unique, they’ll all enjoy one common experience: the chance to discover who they are and what they can achieve — on their own terms — all in the great outdoors.

Discovery Camp is a 4-day, 3-night camping program designed to introduce our youngest campers to overnight camp and to allow parents to adjust to the idea of their camper being away from home. Our focus is to create a safe, comfortable, and fun camping experience for our Discovery campers. Each Discovery cabin is made up of a maximum of 8 campers and 2 staff members.

Discovery campers stay together with their cabin group and sample camp activities in shorter, age-appropriate activity periods. Our Discovery Camp counselors are dedicated to creating a supportive environment where our youngest campers can become more independent and build new friendships.

During a session of Traditional Overnight Camp, campers have the opportunity to try a wide variety of camp activities that interest them. By empowering our campers to choose which activities they want to participate in, we are fostering self-reliance and enhancing their decision making ability. Traditional Overnight Camp provides campers with the chance to unplug from electronics, get outside, and just be a kid.
