You may have been an avid gym-goer, or you may have just been starting your fitness journey before social distancing and other COVID measures were put into place. Either way, the closure of gyms and increased distancing measures have pushed you out of your workout routine and back home onto the couch. While it may be tempting to give in to nights of Netflix and comfort food, learn why it’s important to focus on staying active at home.

The YMCA of Greater Williamson County has a wide variety of online fitness classes so you can continue the Y workouts you love from the comfort of your own home. There are a variety of categories of classes, so there really is something for everyone

Active Older Adults – Our active older adults corner may be perfect for you! If you’re a senior and want to stay forever young and active get involved today. You can enjoy free workout videos through the SilverSneakers YouTube channel or, if you’re a SilverSneakers member, on-demand exercise classes.

Active Family Fun – Family fun means a day of fitness. You can teach your kids the importance of fitness and staying active while also getting a good workout in. We offer fun family videos that offer easy and fun bursts of exercise for kids and adults. We even have online learning activities to keep the little ones entertained while you stay active and workout!

Les Mills OnDemand – The Les Mills classes you know and love are available online for all of our Y members. This includes cardio and strength videos, which are perfect for anyone who is looking to sweat and build some stamina. Cardio helps to burn fat and fully tone your body. We even have a bootcamp playlist of videos you can follow along with to truly get that hard work out in. There are also mind-body videos to help ground you and bring a little Zen into your home. The Les Mills Yoga videos are perfect for improving posture, building muscle, and reducing stress.

Live Classes – If you need the motivation of having a fitness instructor in real-time, we also have live fitness classes available on our Facebook pages that will make you feel like you’re back in an in-person class! These will give you that in-person feel while being able to join the Y community.

While we love to give you all these free workout videos and the ability to work out from home, we understand it just may not be the same. Your safety and health is our main priority and as such, we practice extensive cleaning procedures to ensure that, when you’re ready, you can enter back into our gyms confident and ready to move!
