AFTERSCHOOL 2010-2011 REGISTRATION
The 2010-2011 school year is upon us and that means, if you haven’t done so already, it’s time to register for YMCA Afterschool! Designed to ensure safety for children (grades K-5) while promoting healthy physical and emotion growth, helping working families and inspiring children to learn, the YMCA Afterschool Program strives to assist each child reach their full potential by offering a positive and enriching environment that encourages the development of character, leadership and cooperative spirit. YMCA Afterschool, which runs on weekdays from the time that school ends until 6:30 p.m., is also offered at convenient sites in Round Rock, Leander, Pflugerville, Taylor, Hutto, Liberty Hill and Thrall ISDs. Registration for the 2010-2011 academic year is in full swing, so hurry and sign up today!

Dive In Movie Night
Going to the movies and taking a dip in the pool are always fun ways to spend your time during the summer, but what if you could combine the two? Well, the Twin Lakes Family YMCA has done just that with its Dive In Movie Night. Enjoy a family-friendly movie poolside at the Twin Lakes Family YMCA Pool from 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. every second and fourth Friday beginning June 11 (June 11 & 25 / July 9 & 23 / Aug. 13 & 27 / Sept. 10). While children two years of age and younger are FREE, adult admission is $2 and $3, respectively for YMCA Members and Non-Members and kids above two years old are $1.50 (YMCA Members) and $2.50 (Non-Members). Concessions, including hot dogs, drinks, candy and chips, will also be available for purchase on site. The schedule for each evening (weather permitting of course) is as follows:

REVIVE LIFE ADULT HEALTH EXPO
It’s time to RECHARE, REINVEST & RENEW YOURSELF at the Twin Lakes Family YMCA Revive Life Adult Health Expo! Set for Saturday, Sept. 18 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., individual adults will be able to take part in a wide array of fitness activities, including:
- 5 Group Exercise Classes
- Body Pump from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
- Body Combat from 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
- RPM from 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
- Pilates from 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
- Zumba from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
- Self-Defense Demonstrations
- Tai Chi
- Yoga
- Archery
- Challenge Obstacle Course
- Tango Tower Climbing & Zip Line
Then, if you and your partner are up to the task you can also participate in our Partners Fitness Challenge, which includes a timed 5K, an obstacle course, a canoe race and a three-legged race! Admission is FREE and entry into the Partners Fitness Challenge is only $8 per person. And the first 250 people to register for the Partners Fitness Challenge will receive a FREE event t-shirt! SWIM LESSONS
Believe it or not, it’s time to start thinking about Fall Swim Lessons! That’s right – registration for fall lessons (through Dec.) is underway. YMCA Family Members can begin signing up on the 1st of each month for next month’s lessons, while past participants can do the same on the 7th and everyone else as of the 15th. So don’t let your pool fun at the Rabb Family Natatorium in Round Rock end with the conclusion of summer, there is much more to be had. And don’t forget … our community natatorium, like all YMCA facilities and programs, is not only open to YMCA Members but the ENTIRE COMMUNITY. That's right - you don't have to be a member to enjoy everything the YMCA has to offer, including the natatorium with its variety of swim lessons, pool parties and water fitness classes. September Overnighter
Are you already missing the summer fun you had a Camp Twin Lakes? Well, don’t despair because Camp Twin Lakes is hosting its first Fireside Overnighter of the fall this September! Spend the night at Camp Twin Lakes and enjoy a wide array of camp activities to go along with a unique theme as well as a special campfire event and so much more. If you haven’t experienced a Fireside Overnighter yet or just can’t get enough Camp Twin Lakes, this event is for you.
